Claro (America Movil) announced it has acquired the rights to broadcast the Bundesliga (football league soon to start in Germany) for Latin America, not including Brazil, where the rights belong to Band and the sports news and statistics app OneFootball.
According to what Claro officially reported, from last September 20th, the company started to broadcast the competition matches to be played on Sundays at 1:00 PM (ART) through its Claro Sports sports channel. The matches will also be available for free via streaming in Latin America, excluding Brazil, through Marca Claro (official website and YouTube account). The first Bundesliga match that was broadcast by Marca Claro and Claro Sports was the one disputed between Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen, played this last Sunday, September 20th.
Claro also reported that the Bundesliga broadcasts will be available in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela. In Mexico, where America Movil is not authorized by the IFT to offer pay TV, Claro Sports is available on several TV operators, such as Megacable, Dish, Totalplay and StarTV.
In Brazil, the Bundesliga will be broadcast by Band on FTA TV. OneFootball will broadcast all the matches of the Professional League and the Second Professional League of German football. The new Bundesliga season, which was one of the first to resume after being canceled by the Coronavirus pandemic, started last week.
